STEP 1 - Verify Your Connection to Elluminate
Join this session to verify that you can connect to an Elluminate session before proceeding to step #2. If successful you will see the Elluminate interface open and successfully connect. This link will open up a new browser window.
TROUBLESHOOTING:
- NMCI and other managed system users should refer to the connection troubleshooting document if you can't connect. Note that this document may help anyone who is behind a managed firewall or using a proxy server.
- If you are getting java error, it might be a Velocity Servlet Error.
- Mac Users who recently updated their Java version might have connection problems: Please refer to the Mac user connection troubleshooting document.
- Internet Explorer 8 users may have issue downloading the .jnlp file, if your address bar turns red, install the appropriate DOD Root Certificate at the bottom of this page to complete the download.
STEP 2 - View the 5-Minute Participant Training
Once you have verified that your computer can talk to Elluminate, we recommend that all Elluminate users view the brief participant training session. This is a pre-recorded session that will explain the basic usage of the application.

STEP 3 - Save or Print the Elluminate Quick Reference Guide
For your convenience, an Elluminate Quick Reference Guide is available here which can be printed or saved to your computer, and may be useful during future usage of the application.
STEP 4 - Access Elluminate Through Your Sakai Course(s)
To access your Elluminate session through your Sakai course, use the Elluminate link typically in the left navigation area of your course and browse the list for your session. Contact your instructor if you are not able to find the session or are unsure of the title.
