NPS has been approved to certify Montgomery GI Bill (MGIB) and Post 9/11 GI Bill for reservists and National Guard members.
Important note: While in attendance at NPS, no active duty student is eligible to use their veteran’s educational benefits when enrolled in a degree program as per Title 10 law.
At this time, Title 10 legislation prohibits NPS from receiving tuition and fees from ALL educational programs qualified through the VA.
The book and housing allowance may be covered through the VA, depending on which program you are certified for. For further clarification about NPS tuition & fees, please contact grad-ed@nps.edu.
Contact the VA coordinator via e-mail or at (831) 656-7878 for all VA Educational Benefits, such as CH 35, CH 1606 or any other programs not listed above for further guidance and processing of these benefits.
As per the VA, once certified at NPS the first educational benefit payment may take from 9-12 weeks before it is direct deposited in the account listed on your VA form 22-1990/1995.
The VA requires hard copies of applications to be retained by the institution of higher learning for two years. Thus, in order to obtain your educational benefits, the following steps have to be accomplished with its associated document requirement.
