Admissions

The Naval Postgraduate School offers first-class graduate degree programs in a wide variety of disciplines to U.S. students, international students, Department of Defense civilian employees and a limited number of defense contractors.  NPS also offers a number of scholarship programs for U.S. citizens who are able to obtain security clearance and are willing to work for the Defense Department once their degree is completed. There is also a new NPS Work Study program that allows individuals to work half-time and go to school half-time.  For more information click here.

Admissions

All applications are processed by the Office of Admissions, but the final acceptance decision is determined by the appropriate department faculty. Some departments may have requirements in addition to your application. Any additional or increased pre-requisites are outlined in the Naval Postgraduate School Academic Catalog or by clicking the Programs tab. For example, a department may require a higher undergraduate grade point average or GRE tests. It is critical that you consider department pre-requisites well in advance of an application (set by the department) in order to fulfill all requirements.
