 | Bob Armstead Emeritus Associate Professor of Physics Ph.D. Physics, UC Berkely, 1964 Phone: 831-656-2125, Email: armstead@nps.edu Dr. Armstead joined the faculty of NPS in 1964. He has worked on problems relating the theory of low energy electron-atom scattering. His current interests are in the teaching of physics and in the computer simulation of free-electron lasers. | | Alfred Cooper Emeritus Professor of Physics Ph.D. Physics, The Queens University of Belfast, 1961 Phone: 831-624-7005, Email: acooper@nps.edu Dr. Cooper joined the NPS Physics faculty in 1957. He worked in gas discharge and plasma physics, laser technology, laser-target interaction, atmospheric optical propagation and turbulence, infrared system performance and applications in electromagnetic warfare. |
 | Don Walters Emeritus Professor of Physics Ph.D. Physics, Kansas State University, 1971 Phone: 831-656-2267, Email: walters@nps.edu Dr. Walters joined the NPS in 1983. At NPS he has developed and fielded a number of optical, acoustic and micro-thermal probe systems that measure the dynamic turbulent properties of the atmosphere that are being used in critical national programs. He is the author of three requirement documents for military weapons systems currently in service and serves on a number of high level DoD Steering Committees concerned with laser propagation. Prof Walters has advised 51 M.S. and 2 Ph.D. students. He is a member of the APS and OSA. | | Karlheinz Woehler Emeritus Professor of Physics Ph.D. Physics, University of Munich, 1962 Phone: 831-659-4383, Email: kaiwoehler@razzolink.com Dr. Woehler joined the faculty in 1962 and has been retired since 2008. He still studies physics and has a special interest in the Universe and it origin. |
