Summary Building on the lessons learned from previous Strategic Communication Workshops for DASD(JC), a series of three-day workshops will be planned and executed, primarily at the various Combatant Commands in conjunction with participants from the Department of State and other interagency players. Workshop participants will learn the basics principles of Strategic Communication and be able to integrate the effectiveness of communication to all stakeholders and to increase the successful implementation of the organization's strategic or operational plan. Participants will work with a trained facilitator prior to the workshop to shape their strategic initiative. The workshop offers analysis and evaluation of internal, external, domestic and international stakeholders in terms of strategic communication messaging, media, and outcomes. Topics include: Strategic Communication Framework, SC Elements and Templates, Leadership and Change Related to SC, Public Diplomacy, Research and Metrics, and Lessons from the Corporate World. Workshops presentations incorporate the latest communication research on organizations in both the public and private sectors as well as lessons learned from Strategic Communication implementation in the various COCOMs. Participants will learn through case studies, practical applications, seminar discussions, lectures and provide examples from their own organizations on strategic communications issues.
