Summary Energy Systems Technology Evaluation Program Overview The ESTEP program aims to educate the Naval Workforce through practical implementation of new and nascent technologies to reduce the cost and increase the security and resilience of energy infrastructure to United States Navy. This exposes thesis students to relevant research in the critical field of energy resilience. In addition, it allows the faculty to be aware of the state-of-the-art in energy technologies. By nurturing nascent technologies at facilities it matures them to the point of their potential operational fielding. Each project is designed to investigate a particular technology. This can be in a number of ways, the most basic is an evaluation with a project design for the next phase of the work. More mature projects aim to purchase a particular piece of equipment that is usually commercially available and evaluate in a real world setting.
