Summary The CORE Lab’s SWAATC SNA educational outreach is a five day, unclassified, in-person learning event designed to familiarize participants with social network analysis (SNA). This training event creates a structure in which the students are required to meet for five continuous days of instruction including lectures, software demonstrations, lab sessions, and question & answer sessions. The participants are also required to read academic-level articles as homework and contribute to discussions, as well as developing a final SNA product in order to complete this course. Trainings will take place at USAJFKSWCS in Ft. Bragg, NC.
CORE Lab will provide five (5) days of social network analysis instruction to students scheduled for late May for the April-May SWAATC course, and a final class in August for the August-September SWAATC course. Labs, reading materials and a cd of course materials will be provided by the CORE Lab to each student.
The SWAATC SNA educational outreach will provide analysts and operators with an understanding of how to illuminate important facets of dark networks through exposure to SNA theory and hands-on application. Specifically, the interactive SWAATC SNA training covers the following: basic SNA theory, an introduction to SNA application, relational data preparation, and network visualization and manipulation techniques. Students will also learn about the four SNA metric families; network topography, centrality, cohesive subgroups, and brokers & bridges.
