Summary The objective of the project is to provide Fleet Satellite Communications (FLTSATCOM) and Laser Relay Communications Satellite laboratories for education of space-based military communication technologies that are applicable for the Nuclear Command, Control and Communications (NC3) Systems. Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) has been operating state-of-the-art laboratories for space-based military communication systems including the flight-qualified FLTSATCOM testbed and the laser relay communication satellite simulator. These laboratories can provide the knowledge in the current and future satellite communication systems that are critical for the systems engineering and integration of current and future multi-platform NC3 systems. The emphasis of the project is to provide students with hands-on experience in the working principals and experimental testing of space-based communication systems and subsystem components.
