Summary The Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) provides a research-informed education program for the United States Army Civil Affairs and Psychological operations Command, focusing on the requisite skills identified by the Department of Defense as necessary for Civil-Military Operations, Stability Operations, Counterinsurgency and Irregular Warfare (IW) operations worldwide. The objective of the graduate certificate programs is to develop better understanding of stability, security, and development in the global environment and enable students to more effectively operate in the civil dimension of military operations across the spectrum of conflict. This project provides a conceptual framework for analyzing civil affairs and psychological operations/military information support operations and graduate level education for analysis, planning and execution of complex operations.
The Civil-Military Operations and the Rule of Law (RoL) certificate is a hybrid 12 credit graduate education program conducted by the faculty of the Global Public Policy Academic Group (GPPAG) at NPS. The certificates combine distributed learning with an intensive in-residence phase. This format - 14 days in residence for RoL enables access to education for U.S. Army reservists. SSDCO provides U.S. Army Reserve officers and NCOs in the CA and PSYOP/MISO community an opportunity to gain specialized knowledge that is not available elsewhere.
