Summary The Naval Postgraduate School will provide academic content, applicable frameworks and practical exercises for four day Mobile Education Team (MET) Seminar Civil-Military Relations Program in “Gender Perspectives on Defense-related Leadership” in Santiago, Chile. Approximately 40 participants from the Armed Forces, ANEPE, as well as various Ministries, and civil society organizations are expected to attend the CMR MET. The MET aims to assist the host-nation develop and implement gender policies, in particular policies aimed at improving or enhancing the representation of and the prospects for women in the military—including women in defense, women in uniform, women in combat—and beyond the armed forces. The seminar will provide theoretical background on gender equality in general, as well as practical, strategic, and political insights into women’s integration and equality in the armed forces, in particular. Examples, lessons learned, and best practices of and for women integration in the armed forces from various developed and developing democracies will also be provided. The MASL number for this MET is P309070. This seminar was coordinated with SOUTHCOM and the Country Team of Chile. The MASL number was established by the United States Navy.
