Summary The United States Army Medical Research and Materiel Command (USAMRMC), Telemedicine and Advanced Technology Research Center (TATRC), requests NPS MOVES to collaborate in the areas of Human Factors and Medical Modeling and Simulation. Recognizing the long standing contributions already provided by the MOVES Institute, we request that one of your researcher/technical faculty, knowledgeable with Assistant Secretary of Defense, Health Affairs (ASD/HA) and OSD (AT&L Human Systems), conduct research into translating Medical Modeling & Simulation (MM&S) capabilities into academic programs beneficial to both the NPS and AFSIM. The results of this research will provide guidance to the TATRC Director and to the AFSIM Director on medical modeling, simulation and training policy, standards, technology investment, transition strategy, and will also be used by AFSIM to develop meaningful NATO medical simulation and training strategy to meet future educational and training goals. We envision this collaboration to eventually lead to a broader range of M&S curriculum and degree alternatives for those healthcare professionals in both the uniformed services and their civil services counterparts.
