Summary | The NASA COMEX mission was designed to evaluate the use of airborne imaging spectrometers for identifying and quantifying methane emissions from the surface of the earth either from natural or anthropogenic sources. As part of this experiment, NASA Ames Research Center will be flying the Ames GHG analyzer aboard the CIRPAS Twin Otter in conjuction with other project payloads in an effort to under-fly the NASA ER-2. This project was funded by the NASA Earth Science Division and the CIRPAS Twin Otter was written into the proposal as the primary platform given its unique modifications and its close proximity to the area of operations. |
