The International Defense Acquisition Resource Management (IDARM) Program at the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) in Monterey, California educates authorized allied military officers and civilian equivalents. IDARM provides graduate level executive and continuing education programs that support intellectual innovation and growth throughout the careers of the total force. IDARM program offerings provide participants with the tools, techniques, and skills to foster improvements in defense acquisition decision-making within their armed forces and defense institutions.
IDARM will conduct two events in Nouakchott, Mauritania. The three day “Logistics and Life Cycle Management Site Survey” during 9-11 July, 2018 and the five day “Foundational Logistics and Life Cycle Management” Mobile Education Team (MET) during 24-28 September, 2018. These events will provide participants from the Mauritanian Armed Forces an understanding of the important components and characteristics of effective defense logistics and life cycle management. Emphasis will be placed on the critical role logistics planning and life cycle considerations play in the defense acquisition decision making process. Participants will discuss best practices in logistics and life cycle management and complete integrated group exercises based on the practical application of the concepts and methods discussed throughout the week. Background readings will be provided to amplify topics discussed and serve as a resource for participants. Additionally, this course will help build the intellectual capital of the Naval Postgraduate School faculty confirmed to support this effort.
