Summary This research focuses on definition and analysis of a concept of operations for Hypervelocity Projectile (HVP) employment in support of layered defense within an AFP. The research conducts a broad definition, via development of a systems architecture, of the employment and weapon characteristics reverent to HVP utilization. The research presents an initial set of system requirements as well as definition of the system functionality and potential physical configurations. The research develops a detailed analysis model that analyzes the performance parameters that have the largest impact on the overall effectiveness of the proposed HVP systems. In particular, the research examines the impact of alterations to range dependent kill criteria and engagement envelopes on the effectiveness of the overall system in complex threat scenarios. That analysis is then fed back into the system architecture to develop recommended system configurations and inform system requirements
