Summary This is a continuation of the research efforts for the Modeling and evaluation of a general purpose digitally programmable VLSI network that was developed for space-based systems. The design is based on a technique that was developed earlier in our research, and has shown excellent radiation sensitivity performance. The mixed mode signal circuit, using BiCMOS techniques is currently under development. Previously fabricated VLSI ASIC chips were irradiated using the NPS LINAC, or other facilities, for testing its performances under radiation environment. Past experimental results using this technique has shown great improvements in the circuit's radiation performance. Investigation of incorporating these designs using SOI fabrication techniques will be also considered. Developing a new realistic radiation model for the prediction of radiation effects on HBT and other devices utilized in VLSI design using SILVACO software is also proposed.
