Summary Naval Postgraduate School Center for Executive Education will develop a 2.5 day Design Thinking workshop focusing on OJAG Headquarters organizational realignment needs. We anticipate developing up to three challenges to be addressed by a maximum of three teams. We will use a team-based learning approach to expose assumptions and explore issues, opportunities, and solutions for improved alignment of the organization to its current and emerging operational environment. This future oriented design approach iteratively addresses the challenges of balancing capabilities and organizational realignment in the context of policy and design factors such as human and financial resources. It contributes to an open and appreciative context that models the development of the type of communication and collaboration needed for becoming a more responsive and strategically agile organization.
The deliverable from the workshop will be a working model of the organizations current and desired state and actions for further investigation and available alignments. The goal in the long run is a more integrated organization that can improve on internal process factors (e.g., greater role clarity, less role conflict) and improved fitness for mission accomplishment. Of course, one workshop cannot make this happen, but it aims to kick-start it (if required)
