Summary The Marine Corps Expeditionary Energy Office has determined that energy is a critical combat enabler and growing vulnerability. The call for research notes, "At the core or the USMC Expeditionary Energy strategy is a change in ethos-embedding in the Marine Corps culture that energy is a critical combat enabler, and efficient use or energy increases combat effectiveness." A deeper understanding of the challenges and possible solutions for shaping a combat effective energy posture within the Marine Corps, across the DOTMLPF is required. In response the Marine Corps Expeditionary Energy Office has called for research on several study areas, including Energy Messaging and Behavioral Factors. The Center for Defense Management Research (CDMR) proposes a research project in response to a request from the Marine Corps Expeditionary Energy Office to identify energy messaging and behavioral factors to support the adoption o r sustainable energies on the battlefield. CDMR proposes lo establish an on-going research relationship with the Marine Corps Expeditionary Energy Office to support the USMC Expeditionary Energy strategy, utilizing both student thesis research under faculty supervision and sponsored faculty research.
