Summary This purpose of this proposed effort is to expand the existing NPS near-surface optical turbulence climatology database and to upgrade the associated MATLAB-based GUI application that computes and displays a variety of statistics for this database. This work will include computing new near-surface climatology databases for the South China Sea and Southern California regions and incorporating them into the GUI application. New statistics and displays requested by NSWC-DD will also be incorporated into the GUI, in addition to the existing statistics, which include means, percentiles, the frequency of exceeding a selected threshold value, histograms, and other statistics.
