Summary The proposed work for the current year will include atomization studies of up to 6 fuel nozzles (PN: 143845) operating on both a baseline fuel (F-76) and the selected test fuel. The research will meet the requirements stated in the Standard Work Package SWP44FL-005 which describes the shipboard qualification for Alternative Fuels. The flowrates, acceptance criteria, and testing procedures for the evaluating the nozzles as stated in SWP44FL-005 will be provided and adhered to. The government will furnish the set of 6 fuel nozzles (PN: 143845) and the 55 gallon containers of the baseline fuel (F-76) and the test fuel. The tests will characterize the spray droplet size (SMD), spray angle, and spray pattern as a function of each fuel's viscosity. The tests will report the data as stated in SWP44FL-005.
