This activity will involve the development of a program in computer science for the proposed effort is to reestablish and reinvigorate an educational relationship between the Naval Postgraduate School and the National Security Agency. This will provide university-level, post-graduate training for a cadre of Cryptologic Computer Scientists. A set of certificate and degree concentrations will be designed to reflect the research directions of NSA and build on the educational and research strengths of NPS. The intent is to create a energetic and vibrant intellectual atmosphere that will attract NSA science and technology personnel. By placing the proposed educational activities at the Naval Postgraduate School, it is possible to obtain a level of synergy, coherence and economy not possible in separate activities dispersed across a number of institutions and organizations. The result will be NSA personnel who possess a thorough understanding of applicable critical technical areas as well as the foundational computer science required to be creative problem solvers with a mission focus.
