Summary | To improve our understanding and to provide in situ validation, novel and cost-effective oceanic devices are desired. Ideally, these could be deployed over large areas and persist for many months to capture the evolving oceanic processes via the characterizing ocean salinity, temperature and surface wind speed. The sensors will use biodegradable hydrogels for sensing ocean conditions. The hydrogel allows for unique configurations that differ from the standard rigid shapes of commercial CTDs. |
