Summary This research will explore the interaction between nuclear and conventional weapons associated with the Russian invasion of Ukraine. While a relationship has always existed between nuclear and conventional deterrence, doctrine and operations, the war in Ukraine has brought these relationships into stark relief in a way that has not occurred since the Cold War. The paper will explore the implications for this nuclear-conventional interaction for the concept of integrated deterrence and the development of U.S. Maritime Strategy.
