Summary | The goal of this effort is to improve the methodology currently being used to generate Combat Active Replacement Factors (CARFs), planning factors which play a vital role in estimating the Marine Corps War Reserve Material Requirement (WRMR) and inform the Authorized Acquisition Objective (AAO). As an extension of previous work conducted, the utility of combat modeling, particularly to support CARF estimation in the absence of historical data, will be explored, and specific recommendations made as to how best to use the data resulting from such models. Recommendations will focus on providing a repeatable and transparent method for generating CARF estimtates based on combat models, taking into account data variability and the plannerâ¿¿s level of risk tolerance. |
