Summary | Proposal Objective In 2006, the Navy Modeling and Simulation Office (NMSO) recognized the need to effectively educate and train members of the M&S workforce across a broad range of competencies by initiating an effort to implement M&S education in Systems Engineering curriculum. The following year, the Defense Modeling and Simulation Coordination Office (MSCO) added their support to this effort, resulting in a multi-university initiative to create an M&S education program focused on M&S consumers, such as the DoD acquisition and T&E workforce. The Naval Postgraduate School continues to lead this effort, with expected completion in December 2007. While most of the courses are focused on educating the acquisition professional (the non-engineer) about the effective use of M&S in their jobs, the stakeholders recognized through the requirements development process that a series of courses focused more on the engineering applications of M&S is necessary. This Statement of Work (SOW) provides for the curriculum development of one of those courses, Introduction to Physics-Based Modeling and Simulation. |
