Summary | The proposed research is to explore the feasibility of a miniature direction finding (DF) sensor for air and underwater applications based on a MEMS directional microphone developed by our group that operates similar to the Ormia ochracea fly’s ears. The main advantages of this approach are the compact size of sensors and narrow band detection to enhance the signal-noise-ratio. At the completion of the project, we will deliver a report containing the feasibility of MEMS based miniature directional sensor for both air and underwater applications. |
