Summary | The THz portion of electromagnetic spectrum (0.1-10 THz), covering wavelengths beyond LWIR, has not been fully utilized due to the Jack of sensitive detectors. Recently, we have developed highly sensitive THz sensors employing bi-material effect with integrated metamaterial absorbers. In the proposed research, we plan to fabricate focal plane arrays (FPAs) for imaging in THz spectral range incorporating the THz sensors. Successful completion of this project would result in a new capability for potential use in applications, including identification and analysis of concealed objects and explosives. |
