Back Remotely Triggered Vehicle Mounted IFF (FVMIFF): Evaluation and Field Demonstration of Integrated Day-Night Device
Fiscal Year | 2011 |
Division | Graduate School of Engineering & Applied Science |
Department | Physics |
Investigator(s) | Haegel, Nancy M. |
Sponsor | Office of Naval Research (Navy) |
Summary | An integrated VMIFF design that incorporates both near IR and MWIR response in a single device for optimized performance was developed in 2010. In the second year of this program the devices will be evaluated in a series of field experiments with the goal of obtaining maximum range data for activation and observation, as well as user feedback for a variety of close air support scenarios. NPS personnel will deploy and operate devices and measure performance in training environments. The program will be carried out in collaboration with the US Marine Corps Forces Pacific Experimentation Center (MEC). |
