Summary Pursuant to the revised MOU between ASN (RD&A) CHSENG, Director SSP and the NPS President, NPS proposes to perform studies and analyses in systems engineering topics and areas of focus of immediate concern to the CHSENG and Director SSP as well as to stimulate and supervise studies and analyses conducted by NPS faculty and students. Title: Naval Chair of Systems Engineering and Systems Engineering Research Program. Background: Sec Nav has made the enhancement of systems engineering competencies in the workforce a top priority of the Navy. ASN (RD&A) CHSENG has the lead for responding to this Sec Nav priority. COMNAVSEA has made the establishment of an ABET accredited MS Systems Engineering curriculum and program at NPS a top priority for the EDO community. As the sponsor of Curriculum 580 (Systems Engineering), Director, SSP has the lead for responding to this COMNAVSEA priority, as well as the Sec Nav priority. NPS has been charged by Sec Nav to provide high quality graduate systems engineering education programs and opportunities for professional development of both faculty and students in Systems Engineering and related curricula at NPS, as well as systems engineering programs embedded at selected Naval sites. The Naval Chair of Systems Engineering was established at NPS to support and enhance the NPS response to Sec Nav, ASN (RD&A) CHSENG.
