Summary Recent discoveries at the Naval Postgraduate School have revealed that many current and future systems have physical capabilities that go untapped due to simplifications in the heritage algorithms and person-in-the-loop. The objectives of this proposal are to:
1. Explore autonomy of operations in multi-targeting, scanning and broad-area collections,
2. Provide new and enhanced capabilities for acquisition and targeting over a wide range of spacecraft; and,
3. Demonstrate the capabilities in a real-world flight-ready simulator stood up at Honeywell using AFRL’s Miniature Momentum Control System (MMCS).
The results of this work hold the potential to have deep impacts on the next generation of imaging spacecraft..
