Back Basic Investigation of the Effect of Detonation Convergence on Jet Formation and Stability: 3rd Phase Study

Summary Proposed research concludes basic investigations directed towards projecting potential enhancements in directed explosive energy by convergent detonation. The work emphases shaped charge application and concomitant theoretical explorations for understanding limits of coherent jet flow with respect to convergent detonation and shaped charge design parameters achievable by a novel circumferential initiation process. Work proposed for this third phase of work focus on interpreting results of two shaped charge experiments completed during FY12 and 13, and plotting the course for future research and development that might lead to weapons application.
