Summary | Making knowledge persistent, timely, pertinent and explicit is an implied goal of lessons learned programs. This leads to a number of organizational, technical and big-data challenges. Integration of lessons learned into the daily fabric of operations, cultivating knowledge has many operational benefits but also has a history of being difficult to implement in practice. Adding information is one dimension and retrieving knowledge is another. In between are cultural and technical dimensions that must also have a fit with each other. This research will focus on the SO lessons learned program as an end to end system and congruency within that system to perform in a way that meets expectations for users (socio-technical analysis of the lessons learned system). Then, the research will examine the use of lexical link analysis (LLA) tools for analysis of knowledge within the systems and presentation of results for operational use. |
