Summary Objective: To construct a small scale system using improved heat exchanger technology to maximize heat recovery and apply this to an off-the shelf Rankine cycle demonstrator to show the feasibility of such a system for power generation. This would be extended to a CO2 system which is more efficient over a larger range of temperatures that steam. Deliverables: A small scale CO2 system will be built with an eye towards portability. This project will be used in a continuing education setting with thesis projects available for students.
