Summary |
The Rouge AIS project will develop and qualify a capability to search for and receive AIS messages transmitted outside standard AIS frequency assignments and forward to the customer for investigation. This approach will take advantage of assets on Iridium Next/L3Harris hosted payloads on orbit and will provide 24/7/365 global coverage. Specifically, the system will leverage the Auxiliary Component 7 (AC7) Hosted Payload in order to periodically preform Global Wide Band (6MHz) RF spectrum survey to identify suspicious signals. The opportunity to engage the NPS and its students in the larger effort, as well as the specific test engagements offers a unique win-win for both the USMC and NPS faculty/students. |
