Summary | The Military Departments have made significant progress in developing high quality FAO programs. However, the DoD 2007 Annual FAO Report revealed there is no formal, joint training program for FAOs to sustain the professional development of language skills and regional expertise. A dedicated, standardized, and comprehensive FAO sustainment program will satisfy DoD requirements and ensure difficult-to-acquire language skills and regional expertise are enhanced during the careers of FAOs from all Services. The creation of the Joint FAO SSPP in accordance with USD (P&R) goals and directives will meet DoD requirements by providing FAOs valuable, advanced educational and professional opportunities. |
