Summary	We shall investigate whether new antenna concepts and technologies can improve the performance of high frequency (HF) Navy communication shore sites. Higher gain antennas with reduced sidelobes compared to current antennas, along with scanning capability, will allow ships to operate in a low probability of intercept (LPI) mode. LPI increases the ship's survivability.
