Summary We propose to participate in the pre-Departmental Research Initiative (Pre-DRI) of the Coastal Land-Air-Sea Interaction (CLASI) project with atmospheric sounding measurements launched from a coastal site and flux measurements from two inland tower sites, all near the Monterey Bay. This proposed effort will result in vertical profiles of pressure, temperature, humidity, and wind in the lowest few kilometers of the atmosphere 3-4 times per day and mean and turbulence measurements continuously from the two inland sites. We plan to complete the initial analyses of the data and share the dataset with the group within two months of data collection. All measurements and analyses will be coordinated with other investigators of CLASI.
