Summary This effort will support continued development of the Flexible Architecture Sensor Topology License Plate Recognition (FAST LPR) system, an RDT &E project sponsored by the Counter Narco-Terrorism Program Office (CNTPO). The CNTPO is developing FAST LPR to detect and monitor activities at fixed and ad hoc checkpoints. FAST LPR sensor technology is being interfaced with the Field Information Support Tool (FIST) to improve situational awareness to address the global narco-terrorist threat.
The NPS researcher shall serve as the FAST LPR Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME), providing strategic planning, guidance, and technical oversight for the project. Furthermore, the SME will facilitate FAST LPR engagement opportunities with CNTPO customers and stakeholders, including the U.S. Pacific Command (USPACOM), Law Enforcement, Partner Nations (PNs) and others in order meet project goals and objectives.
