Summary We will use Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to examine and compare current legacy to potential future Mine Warfare (MIW) systems, particularly Littoral Combat System (LCS) and its range of mission packages, with focus on operational effectiveness in MIW missions. We leverage the benefits of experimental design and simulation to investigate linking of Mine Warfare system capabilities and design with operational effectiveness. This includes expansion and improvement in simulation of scenario/warfighting models (specifically MIW), and will consider scenarios from the mine threat spectrum from surf zone and shallow water to deep water mines. This study will result in a means for concept exploration through implementation in a dynamic “dashboard” display, allowing exploration of mission related possibilities with input to decision makers and commanders.
