Summary This research purports to continue the exploration and experimentation of alternative courses of action to address the need for beyond-line-of-site communications to support Enhanced MAGTF Operations (EMO). Such operations require highly dispersed forces to synchronize actions with respect to the operations concept while addressing localized threats. This research effort will continue the a series of faculty-led, student-executed field experiments through an investigation and exploration of support for low data rate applications, such as small text file transfer and chat as well as emerging commercial solutions with proven high bandwidth communications. Of particular interest are solutions that support communications on-the-move, as well as continued operations in satellite-limited or satellite-denied as well as RF-limited environments. Also of interest is the emergence of commercial satellite services that may augment organic communications capabilities and other platforms capable of hosting these services (UAS/Software re-programmable radios, manned platforms hosting mesh networked communications for voice and data).
