Back Civil-Military Relations for the Government of Liberia: Elections Security and Women's Integration

Summary The project consists of two, four-day seminars designed to prepare military officers from the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL) to effectively consider, design and implement practices to improve civil-military relations in the Republic of Liberia (ROL). The first course is titled "Women’s Integration into the Armed Forces,” and the second course is titled “Security Forces and the Electoral Process.” The courses are scheduled to be delivered 20 - 23 March 2017 and 27 - 30 March 2017, respectively. The delivery format combines informative presentations on academic themes and practical frameworks with an in-depth self assessment of security threats, roles and missions, and inter-agency decision making for the ROC. The country expects to have approximately 40 participants in each seminar.
