Summary The overarching goal of this project is to provide an airborne capability to conduct basic and applied atmospheric and oceanographic research for Office of Naval Research (ONR) funded projects. The specific objectives of this project are differentiated into two thrusts:
1. CIRPAS Operations: The work that will be performed by the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) to ensure that the CIRPAS research aircraft, instrumentation and facilities are maintained in a flight-ready condition and available to conduct atmospheric and oceanographic scientific research for ONR funded projects and scientists.
2. Mission Specific Operations: The additional work that will be performed by NPS and the NAVAIR Contractor to support specific flight missions proposed to ONR. For FY21 there is currently only one new ONR flight mission proposed:
a. Pre-CLASI (PI: Professor Qing Wang; May 2021; Location: Marina, CA; 20 flt hours)
