Summary The objective of the project is to support development and validation of atmospheric propagation models in a densely populated urban environment of different regions of the U.S. and India. Another objective of the project is to develop and validate atmosphere compensation techniques that are robust and responsive to relevant atmospheric conditions. Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) has been very active in the development and validation of advanced atmosphere compensation techniques. NPS has commercial laser propagation simulation software and has developed several laboratory testbeds for atmospheric propagation of High Energy Lasers and atmosphere compensation techniques to support this project. NPS is currently developing a High Energy Laser (HEL) Beam Control Research Testbed (HBCRT), which will provide a platform for testing and validation of atmospheric propagation models and atmosphere compensation techniques developed under the project.
