Back Developing a Frigate SoS Effectiveness Model for FFG(X) Mission Readiness

|Summary||The need exists to develop a mission readiness model (Frigate SoS effectiveness model) for the future frigate to aid in the development of the frigate and its subsystems. This model will be accomplished using several steps; (1) identifying the strategy for the existing modeling, (2) identifying the system suitability topics currently implemented, (3) identifying the topics (i.e., systems suitability topics) that are desired to be included in systems effectiveness and therefore the topics that are missing from the existing modeling approach, and (4) formally developing the Frigate SoS effectiveness model. This model will relate all parameters (e.g., MTBF, MTTR, M ?_ct, M ?_pt, etc.) and variables (e.g., time, miles, number of successes, etc.) identified to allow the model the flexibility to define the Frigate's SoS effectiveness for a lifetime and also for specifically defined missions. The outcome of the modeling effort will support tradespace analysis from a total mission perspective where readiness decisions can be based on the mathematical model. In addition to the model, an approach will be developed for allocating readiness requirements to the pillars of PESTONI as well as the development of a ship system case study.|
