Summary The scope of this work is to provide a methodology and to develop a tool for conducting a systematic set of design trade-offs with regards to manning considerations and human performance aboard Navy ships. The proposed work will utilize domain level experts at the Naval Postgraduate School especially with regards to mission effectiveness, motion analysis, and human performance modeling. The results of the methodology and tools that will be developed will be tested and used in various NPS educational activities such as the Total Ship Systems Engineering (TSSE) program as well as the rest of the ACCeSS members.
