Summary Two airborne measurement campaigns are proposed here, using the NPS Twin Otter Research Aircraft. The first seeks understanding and quantification of the differences between marine layer clouds that grow in land sourced aerosol vs. those that form in pristine marine air. The second seeks to study the modulating effects of outflow boundaries on the nature of aerosol, clouds, and possibly the formation of waterspouts in mid- and low latitude coastal regions.
