Back Analysis of the Complex Exponential Method for Modal Parameter Estimation from FSST Data

Summary Currently, an implementation of the Complex Exponential algorithm is being used to identify modal damping constants for data obtained from full-scale shock test data (FSST) from ship structures. This algorithm will be critically assessed for accuracy and robustness in this application. Recommendations for either modifications to the current algorithm or replacement by an improved algorithm will be made. A new computer program implementing this revised algorithm will be provided.
