Summary The objectives of this proposal are to advance new ideas via students’ thesis research in antenna slew optimization. The torque envelopes in antenna motor have a state-dependent geometry. They can be mathematically characterized using a set of nonlinear equations. Thus, new tools for analyzing and exploiting these nonlinear equations are necessary to recover a systems capability. These tools have been developed at the Control and Optimization Laboratories, and the objective of this project is to advance this research using these tools.
