Back DCAA Scholar in Residence, FY13
Fiscal Year | 2013 |
Division | Graduate School of Business & Public Policy |
Department | Graduate School of Business & Public Policy |
Investigator(s) | Gates, William R. |
Sponsor | Defense Contract Audit Agency (DoD) |
Summary | NPS initiated the Scholar in Residence Program to enable faculty to conduct research in active, DoD research settings. CDMR proposes that Dr. Cynthia King further her program of research in strategic communications by applying it to management and operations issues within the Defense Contract Audit Agency. Throughout the residency, Dr. King will look to apply and extend extant theories of "strategic communication," particularly as it is conceptualized within government organizations. The term remains contested in current literature, and the residency work at DCAA - stemming from various communication interventions previously undertaken at the agency - will provide an excellent case study for analysis. Additionally, Dr. King's participation in daily operations provides the agency continuity in executive communication coaching and support, management of internal communication, and engagement with various external stakeholders. |
