Summary | This proposal requests funds for participation in the ONR High Resolution Air-Sea Interaction Departmental Research Initiative (DRI). The objective of this project is to advance observational and modeling techniques for monitoring the sea state around a vessel. The field experiment will be conducted off Point Conception, California, using the floating platform FLIP with a suite of meteorological and oceanographic instruments, airborne and ship-board radar systems, and an array of moored buoys. This proposal describes the in-situ wave measurement component using GPS-based, surface-following buoys. |
