Summary |
On August 27, 2015, The Secretary of the Navy tasked the Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Manpower &Reserve Affairs (M&RA)) to improve workforce community management for the Department of the Navy (DON) to ensure all DON military and civilian personnel are included in actively managed functional communities and enable community leaders to effectively manage their functional communities while supporting organizational leaders. To help accomplish this task, the Deputy Secretary of the Navy (M&RA (Civilian Human Resources) proposes to train HR advisors to embed within each of the functional civilian communities to assist the community managers in developing effective community management policies. There are three phases to the project: a needs assessment to determine what the HR advisors need to know and how they will interact with the functional community managers, curriculum development, and curriculum delivery. This effort will conduct a needs assessment to determine the required content of a training program for the HR community management advisors. |
